Elizabeth and Raleigh: Late But Live
The New Comedie by Stewart Lee
South Street Arts Centre
Wed 15 Oct, 8pm
£14, £12 concs
"The show that I'm most looking forward to seeing this year is 'Elizabeth and Raleigh'. Its a gloriously silly interpretation of the relationship between Queen Elizabeth I and her courtier Sir Walter Raleigh, written by Stewart Lee and performed by comedians Miles Jupp and Simon Munnery . The show had amazing reviews in Edinburgh and this will be a rare chance to see it with the original cast. The biggest draw for me is that its written by Stewart Lee who I think is fantastic, I love the fact that his work is both thought-provoking, intelligent comedy on one hand and unashamedly puerile toilet humour on the other... plus the chance to see Simon Munnery in a dress is just too much to pass up!"."
